Ross grew up in Sidney Maine and always had a knack for taking things apart and putting them back together. As a kid, he loved figuring out how things worked and that trait has stuck with him to this day. If there was construction equipment around, Ross was in it. Ross grew up doing a variety of jobs to help support his hobbies of dirt bikes and diesel trucks. He performed tractor work, tree removal, firewood, plowing, mowing, equipment & automotive repairs, and worked on the family farm. This lead to Ross earning an associates degree in Diesel Mechanics and Heavy Machinery from Eastern Maine Community College. He continued on to receive a bachelors degree in Power Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy. Inspired by his family's multi-generational entrepreneurship, he hoped to own his own business someday. Ross worked at Sappi Paper Mill and Central Maine Power for several years before making the leap to starting his own business. During this period, Ross married, got a dog, and welcomed two kids. In 2021, Ross began pursuing his true passions of excavation and tree work when he established Elevated Tree Service LLC. Ross decided to redirect his primary service towards excavation in 2023 and changed the business name to Schutte Excavation LLC. He is proud of the work he's done and wanted to put his name on it. Ross is often referred to as a "jack of all trades" since he naturally excels at anything he does. His diverse background in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment, tree removal, and engineering help set him apart from other excavation companies. Ross is able to maintain his own equipment which makes him more efficient completing projects and staying on schedule. He is frequently praised by customers and other contractors for his precise work. When he's not working, Ross enjoys deer hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family.
